A city of sea and dreams — Gdynia!

Very soon, on 3–4 September, the Tri-City Housing Fair will take place in Gdynia. It’s an event dedicated to everyone in search of their own place to live in or close to Tri-City. At the fair, you’ll meet up with property developers and get professional advice concerning apartment finishing and interior design. For those interested in design, we recommend Gdynia Design Days — Baltic festival of design. It’s an event that’s going to enthral professionals as well as all those fascinated with dynamic technological changes. Workshops and lectures organized within the festival circle around such topics as technology, ecology, process design, architecture, and city development. This year’s edition of the festival, a 15th one already, took place in July with “common sea” as its watchword.

Open’er Festival

When thinking about events in Gdynia, it’s impossible not to mention this music festival held in the area of Gdynia and Kosakowo municipality between June and July ever since 2003. Each year, it hosts numerous Polish and foreign artists who attract huge crowds of people. For many of them, visiting Open’er has become their summertime tradition. It’s a several-days-long music feast which can result in making new connections and forming new friendships.

Polish Feature Film Festival

Also known under the name of Gdynia Film Festival or Gdynia — Festival of Films. It’s an annual film festival held in Gdynia, 47th edition of which is going to take place in September this year. During the event, Polish feature films produced after the previous edition of the festival are being presented. The main prize awarded for the best production is called Golden Lions.

Gdynia Sailing Days

That’s one of the most important sailing events in Poland which covers the needs of all water sport lovers. During several days, sailors from all over the world confront each other in various competitions. The races and all the events that accompany them are an impressive attraction not only to the competitors themselves, but also to tourists and city dwellers. Gdynia Sailing Days, the city’s sailing festival, has already become a permanent fixture in Gdynia’s calendar. Its 23rd edition took place in July this year.

Globaltica

Globaltica World Cultures Festival is a summer event from the cultural category of which aim is to present multiculturalism, diverse traditions, and religions. The festival invites mostly musicians who present original music sounds in their contemporary arrangements. Apart from music, the festival presents other areas as literature, film, and photography. Globaltica takes place in Kolibki Adventure Park Gdynia, which is a meadow near Sopot’s city borders, by the sea. The festival has been taking place since 2005, and it’s a great occasion to get to know other traditions and cultures.

Ironman Gdynia

Or more precisely Enea IRONMAN 70.3 is one of the largest triathlon competition in this part of Europe. Each year, it allures the competitors from all over the world. Its distance covers 1.9 km of swimming in Gdańsk Bay, 90 km of biking through Kaszuby, and ends up with 21 km of running through Gdynia’s streets. Every year, the event attracts large crowds of fans, who observe the competitors’ struggles, especially the last stage of the entire track. The 10th jubilee edition of this event took place this year in August.

Sea Festival

When in Gdynia, one cannot forget about the Sea Festival! The Sea Festival is an event that comprises of dozens of events taking place within several days. This year, it was held in June and it covered 40 events within 10 days. The festival is associated with the beginnings of Gdynia, and it was already initiated in 1932! Celebrations start from laying wreaths on the sea in memory of fallen sailors, and after that various concerts, exhibitions, urban games and plays commence.
