Slow life – how to slow down the pace

What is slow life?

Today's life is a constant rush, stress, fatigue. Due to constant pressure, we lack the strength to enjoy every moment. Slow life is a philosophy that was initiated by Carlo Petrini, opposing the fast-serving food at McDonald's. After this protest, restaurateurs started slow food - meals prepared from good quality ingredients without frozen or semi-finished products. Slow life is not only slow food, but also slow business or slow travel.

Perhaps slow life is associated with passivity and laziness. Absolutely! It is not giving up ambitions, dreams or goals. The main idea of slow life is to calm down your everyday life, enjoy every moment, not to postpone inner peace and balance for the proverbial "later".

Here are some tips on how to live in the spirit of slow life:

1. Find balance, also at work.

Set yourself clear goals, separate the important from the trivial. The key to finding balance is first of all assigning priorities to your tasks and eliminating those that are not important from the list. Slow business does not mean slow work, it is the art of working wisely, the ability to plan and delegate tasks well, as well as rest and breaks during work. It also means peace of mind when it comes to securing your interests, for example through a stable lease agreement for 12 months.

2. Fight stress

Stress in small amounts has a motivating effect on us, but when it is too much, it destroys our body. There is no way to completely avoid stress on a daily basis, but it is important to manage it. Slow life is about relieving stress in a healthy way: relaxation techniques, yoga or other sports will help you relieve tension and relax.

3. Take care of yourself

Relationships with other people are extremely important in our lives, but the most important thing is to live in harmony with ourselves. Finding at least 15 minutes of time a day for yourself is caring for your mental comfort. The second equally important issue is to take care of the right amount of sleep and a healthy lifestyle. In our furnished apartments there will certainly be an additional place for sports equipment.

4. Learn to rest

We do not encourage you to be lazy, but sometimes everyone needs a day of doing nothing. In accordance with the slow life philosophy, each day is another chance to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding world and notice the little things that make you smile. Doing nothing is to temporarily hit the stop button in your life, stop the race and allow yourself to do nothing important. A nap, a walk with the dog or relaxing in front of your favourite series? These are good ideas for such a "lazy" day, which you can also spend simply on the couch in our comfortably furnished apartment.

5. Cultivate relationships with others

Work and responsibilities take up a large part of our lives, but it is worth finding time to nurture relationships with family and friends. Sometimes it doesn't take much to improve your relationships with others, a change of attitude, taking the time and, above all, talking. Remember that you have a lot of nice neighbours around you who rent an apartment. That's another topic to talk about!
